Lloyds TSB comp conclusion...

To conclude... it could have gone better.
So no, unfortunately i didn't win the Lloyds TSB 'Art of Nurture' competition, but it was really cool to see my work up in the 'Royal West of England Academy of Art'. I met alot of fellow creatives, got a name tag, and the nibbles....OMG the nibbles... So yeah, was definatly worth the trip to Bristol. Guess i'll have to try again next year ay...

Current direction...

This is the result of my current project to date. a combination of screenprinted imagery and pencil, with the content based around the journey of 'Tom Robinson' throughout the book. There have been progressions since this piece, but im very pleased with the finish here.

More (early) project work

First picture i did for this project, simply because this is the picture painted in my mind by the opening chapter of 'To Kill A Mockingbird'.

Project work...

This is one of my earlier pieces from this project. Currently working from the text of 'To Kill A Mockingbird', (which currently i have wandered from a bit), this piece highlights the childlike wonder and fear which author Harper Lee conveys within the 'Boo Radley' house.

Cutting and sticking....with style

Recently i've been playing a bit with various collage elements within my work, and every now and again i find myself completely engrossed in it for hours, without any reason/purpose, except for enjoying the creative process.
I'll post up some project work soon, but thought i'd just share a few of my experiments in the mean time... enjoy.

Lloyds TSB comp...

This is my competition entry for the Lloyds TSB competition 'The Art Of Nurture'. From a variety of directions i chose 'We stretch ourselves' to focus my study on. I decided to illustrate an Olympic athletes constant pursuit of victory, how they demand nothing short of the best of their ability, in the hope that they can achieve just that little bit more; to stretch themselves in order to be the best.

Currently through to the Regional Final, will keep you posted as to how i'm doing...

out with the old...

In with the new...
out with the old...

Time for a change... from old logo to new. I wanted a more crisp, clean looking header for my blog, website, business cards etc... Hope you like it, you may even get handed one soon.
